Lekven Design Handcrafted Danish Blue Porcelain Collectors Dog Plates by breed.
Lekven Design Danish blue dog plates are created for almost every breed. These plates are manufactured from the finest pocelain, with art created by artist Natalia Brampton. Each one of Lekven's designs is carefully made according to the original drawing from the artist and then hand decorated on to each plate. The plates are high fired in special kilns at 1250 degrees C, the firing process taking approximately 24 hours, which is the only way of achieving the exquisite blue underglaze quality that both the company, and customers, demand. The diameter of the plate is 8 inches, and each plate is shipped in its own protective Styrofoam box. Pre-drilled for easy hanging, you will find the name of the breed and the artist on the back of each plate. All plates are both microwave and dishwasher safe and are registered for international copyright protection.
The artist, Natalia Brampton, was born in Siberia and is a former student of the Novosibirsk Art School of Russia. Winner of the 1984 "Painter of the Year" award in Russia with her portrait "Boy and his Dog," she went on to duplicate that prestigious honor a few years later. Now residing in England, where in 1999 she was selected one of the 10 best artists in England, Natalia brings style and accuracy to her designs. The dogs are shown in their own unique surroundings, giving both meaning and atmosphere to each individual plate. Though in her own words she is "still learning," Natalia is considered the top canine artist in England, and Lekven Design is proud to be associated with her work.
Lekven Design Standard Range of plates are also available in almost all recognized dog breeds. If there is a certain breed you would like, please let us know. Please note these plates are made and shipped from Denmark. Shipping time can vary from three to four weeks, so please allow up to four weeks for delivery.
The color of the plates is not shown with 100% accuracy on our website, as the blue color of our underglaze technique is difficult to reproduce.
